ARSENAL
The signing of goalkeeper Petr Cech has given Arsenal fans real hope
for the forthcoming season that a title challenge is on the way. With
Theo Walcott finishing the season in style, there is every reason to
expect them to be a stronger outfit in 2015/16. The transfer window
isn’t shut yet though. Supporters will hoping to see some competition
for Francis Coquelin in midfield and if Arsene Wenger bolsters his
forward line as well then there’ll be some giddy Gunners around,
although Lukas Podolski has been shipped out by the Arsenal boss.

ASTON VILLA
Tim Sherwood brought the feel-good factor to Villa Park late last
season, but the club’s FA Cup final no-show against Arsenal hinted at
the problems that remain. Scott Sinclair has joined permanently, while
there will be optimism that Micah Richards can rediscover his potential.
However, with skipper Fabian Delph and Christian Benteke leaving and
Ron Vlaar’s contract up, Villa have work to do in the window.

BOURNEMOUTH
Eddie Howe has been quick to bolster the numbers at Dean Court. The
biggest investment so far has been in 22-year-old defender Tyrone Mings
from Ipswich but Premier League experience looks to be a priority too
for the newly-promoted club. Adam Federici and Sylvain Distin should
help with that, while the loan signing of Christian Atsu from Chelsea
suggests Howe still has an eye for a flair player as he prepares for the
test of the big league.

Jose Mourinho’s decision to bring Radamel Falcao to Stamford Bridge
is an intriguing one after his disappointing season at Manchester
United, while Chelsea fans have also had to deal with club icons Didier
Drogba and Petr Cech walking away, with Asmir Begovic coming in to
improve their goalkeeping options. However, all of these moves are
players on the fringes of the first-choice team – a reminder that when
you’re the champions, there’s less work required than your rivals.

CRYSTAL PALACE
Free from the shackles of Mike Ashley’s Newcastle regime, Alan Pardew
might have been expected to become a free-spending spirit at Palace but
the Eagles are only starting to dip their toes into the marked. Several
low-key players have been released but Pardew has pulled off the
considerable coup of convincing Yohan Cabaye to return to England from
Paris St-Germain. Scott Dann has also signed a new deal while Patrick
Bamford has been given a shot at the Premier League after joining on
loan from Chelsea.

EVERTON
The return of Gerard Deulofeu has got supporters excited, with the
Barcelona forward arriving for what looks to be a bargain price. Tom
Cleverley has also linked up with Roberto Martinez again on a free
transfer so Everton will feel they have got good value so far. With no
Europa League distractions this term, they’ll be expecting a big
improvement on last season’s Premier League efforts – and that will mean
holding on to the likes of Seamus Coleman.

LEICESTER CITY
After
making an impressive impact in the latter half of last season, the
permanent signing of Robert Huth offers hope that Leicester can continue
that revival. Christian Fuchs arrives on a free transfer to compete for
the left-back spot, but the Foxes have been backed with money too, with
consistent Bundesliga forward Shinji Okazaki on his way. It’s all very
exciting with Claudio Ranieri handed the reins, but fans will be
heartbroken by the news that Esteban Cambiasso is leaving.

LIVERPOOL
Christian Benteke is Liverpool's biggest signing of the summer so far
after he joined in a £32.5m deal from Aston Villa. The signing of
Roberto Firmino has got fans talking given the buzz about the Brazilian
in the Bundesliga and there’ll be hope that – with the support of Danny
Ings – he can help reinvigorate the Reds in the final third, while
Nathaniel Clyne has joined from Southampton. It’s not all about the
big-money deals at Anfield though. The acquisition of James Milner looks
a shrewd purchase and should minimise any damage caused by the
departure of club captain Steven Gerrard, while Brendan Rodgers also
looks to move on after the £49m sale of Raheem Sterling to Manchester
City.

MANCHESTER CITY
The biggest transfer saga of the summer finally came to a head in
July as Raheem Sterling completed a £49m move to the Etihad Stadium, and
another saga took a U-turn as Villa's Fabian Delph changed his mind
twice, eventually ending up at City. The loss of James Milner would have
been a disappointment to those inside the club, but Yaya Toure’s
renewed commitment to City suggests the talk of dramatic change has been
overstated. Meanwhile, Edin Dzeko continues to be linked with a move
away from the Etihad Stadium.

MANCHESTER UNITED
Louis
van Gaal’s costly regeneration at Old Trafford has gathered pace this
summer after the early arrival of Memphis Depay added pace and invention
on the flanks. Sergio Ramos would be quite the coup for a defence
lacking leaders, while Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger
have arrived to galvanise the midfield, and full-back Matteo Darmian has
strengthened their defensive options. With Radamel Falcao’s loan up, a
striker could be on the way too – but it’s the future of goalkeeper
David de Gea that will worry supporters.

NEWCASTLE UNITED
Steve McClaren made Georginio Wijnaldum his first signing of
the summer since taking over in June, while the acquisition of
Aleksandar Mitrovic from Anderlecht is a real statement of intent. The
Magpies had a miserable season in 2014/15, only narrowly avoiding
relegation after a run of nine defeats from their last 11 games of the
season under John Carver, so strengthening their squad will be crucial
ahead of the new campaign.

NORWICH CITY
Norwich returned to the Premier League at the first time of
asking after triumphing over Middlesbrough in the Championship play-off
final in May. The Canaries have already signed winger Graham Dorrans
from West Brom after a successful loan spell last season, while
midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu has also arrived from The Hawthorns on a
free transfer. Alex Neil’s side are likely to strengthen further before
the end of the transfer window as they look to preserve their Premier
League status.

SOUTHAMPTON
Ronald Koeman’s Saints defied all expectations last season as
they secured a seventh-placed finish despite a string of high-profile
departures in the summer which included former boss Mauricio Pochettino.
This year, right-back Nathaniel Clyne has joined Liverpool and
midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has departed for Manchester United, but
the south-coast club have already started strengthening. Spanish striker
Juanmi has arrived from Malaga and Cedric Soares has been brought in
from Sporting Lisbon to replace the departing Clyne, while Jordy Clasie
has arrived to bolster the midfield.

STOKE CITY
Stoke are another side who impressed in 2014/15, securing
their second successive top-10 finish under Mark Hughes and rounding off
the campaign with a thumping 6-1 win at home to Liverpool. The Potters’
first big money addition of the summer arrived in the shape of a £5.75m
deal for former Spain Under-21 international striker Joselu from
Hannover 96. They have also completed the permanent signing of German
defender Philipp Wollscheid after a loan spell last season and brought
in Danish goalkeeper Jakob Haugaard from Midtylland and winger Moha El
Ouriachi from Barcelona for an undisclosed fee. Glen Johnson has also
arrived to bring more Premier League experience to the back line, while
the loan of Marco van Ginkel from Chelsea could pay dividends.

Matthews, while Jeremain Lens has arrived from Dynamo Kiev.

Swansea exceeded expectations in 2014/15, finishing just
outside the Europa League places in eighth despite losing Wilfried Bony
to Manchester City in January. Bafetimbi Gomis impressed as Bony’s
replacement in the final weeks of the campaign, and the Swans have
already started strengthening this summer. They completed a transfer
coup with the signing of Ghana forward Andre Ayew on a Bosman deal
following the expiry of his contract at Marseille. French defender Frank
Tabanou has also arrived from St Etienne, and Swedish goalkeeper
Kristoffer Nordfeldt has been brought in as back-up to Lukasz Fabianski.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR
After their ill-fated £100m transfer splurge following the
sale of Gareth Bale in 2013, Tottenham are adopting a very different
approach in the transfer market as Mauricio Pochettino re-shapes his
squad. Right-back Kieran Trippier, 24, and centre-back Kevin Wimmer, 22,
have arrived for relatively small fees from Burnley and Cologne
respectively, while Brazil midfielder Paulinho, one of the unsuccessful
big money additions two years ago, has departed to China for £9.8m. Toby
Alderweireld was snatched away from Southampton as he joins from
Atletico Madrid to give added presence to the Spurs defence.

Despite guiding Watford to promotion from the Championship,
former boss Slavisa Jokanovic left the club at the end of last season
with Spanish coach Quique Flores arriving in his place. The Hornets have
also started instigating changes on the pitch, with several new
signings already wrapped up. Etienne Capoue has joined from Tottenham,
while the signings of Valon Behrami and Jose Holebas show Watford mean
business this season. Fans will also be delighted they have managed to
secure forward Matej Vydra on a permanent deal from Udinese.

Tony Pulis turned West Brom’s fortunes around after his
appointment in January last season, easing their relegation worries and
guiding them to a 13th-placed finish. Their first signing of the summer
was winger James McClean, a £1.5m addition from Wigan Athletic, but they
missed out on Demba Ba as the striker opted for Shanghai Shenhua. The
Baggies have allowed Graham Dorrans and Youssouf Mulumbu to join
newly-promoted Norwich, while Chris Baird signed for Derby County.
